An open letter to my forever friend.

Words surely wouldn’t be enough to describe how much I appreciate you. You amaze me everyday. The the kind of love that I get from you is unmatachble. I am who I am today because of you. I am in a journey to become another you, which is quite impossible because you are one of a kind. You taught me everything, from taking my first steps to writing my name, you’ve been my first guru.

You gave me the freedom to choose my dreams and to work on it, you have never put forth any hurdles on my way, infact you’ve taken them away for me.

The way you choose to put up with me in the most loving way possible is commendable. Your love is shown in everything you do for us. Your children were always your number one priority even when there were thousands of things of your own. The selfless love that you shower upon us everyday gives us the strength to face the struggles of the world. We are blessed to have you in our lives. You are the most beautiful person I’ve seen, both inside out.

You always push me to be the best version of myself. You correct me when I am wrong and applaud when I am right. You’ve always been my favourite cheerleader, a cheerleader who will forever celebrate my little victories. In you I have my support system. I wouldn’t have been the same if it wasn’t for you. You’ve done ample sacrifices for us and you choose to do it everyday, for our happiness. How can someone else’s happiness bring you happiness ? I always wonder.

When people compliment me, I say I got it from my Amma. Thanks for passing your cooking and baking skills, it’s helped my survive my college days. I look out for you when I am anxious. A glance of you takes half my worries away. You’re the strongest woman I know and it surely takes a lot of guts for all that you do for your family. You’ve always stood up for the right and never hesitated to speak your heart.

Ofcourse dad’s always been your pillar of strength. Together you both have given us the best and we are living our best life because of you two. You guys teach us the value of the little things, the value of giving, the value of life.

You have left an impact on your children and even though we do not say this very often, we appreciate what you do for us.
